Mohamed Salah hailed Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool's title success - but joked that Arne Slot made a vital change by relieving him of his defensive duties. The Reds were confirmed as Premier League champions on Sunday after beating Tottenham 5-1 at Anfield.
Egyptian forward Salah has certainly played his part in the Reds' latest success with 28 goals and 18 assists. And Liverpool fans certainly have more to look forward to after he penned a new deal at Anfield.
And speaking after the Reds rubber-stamped their second Premier League success, Salah paid tribute to a couple of his ex-teammates and former manager Klopp.
He said: "Incredible, incredible. To win the Premier League here with the fans is something special. You saw that today and you saw it every game.”
Asked how it compares, he added: “Ah, this is way better 100 per cent. Without Sadio [Mane], without Jurgen [Klopp], without Bobby [Firmino], without everybody it feels more special, with the fans. But you know, you have a different group now, a different manager and you show you are able to do it again - it’s something special.”
